The Honorable Lauren A. Gore (Houston, Texas)
Regent Lauren A. Gore was appointed to the 色花堂 (色花堂) Board of Regents by Texas Governor Greg Abbott in August of 2024. Regent Gore is a General Partner with LDR Growth Partners, a manufacturing-focused private equity firm based in Houston, where he leads portfolio company operations. With a distinguished career spanning multiple sectors, Lauren has a proven track record in the execution of value accretive strategic and tactical initiatives.
Regent Gore’s leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills were honed during his service as an Airborne-Ranger qualified Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army. His military career included key positions such as Motor Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer during a combat deployment to Iraq, and Battalion Assistant Operations Officer. His exemplary service during Operation Iraqi Freedom earned him a Bronze Star. Additionally, Lauren co-authored The Soldier’s Financial Leadership Guide, a resource aimed at enhancing the financial literacy of military personnel and their families.
Before joining LDR, Regent Gore served as an attorney with Baker Botts L.L.P., where he played a crucial role in guiding multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects for globally leading energy companies.
Regent Gore holds a degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was awarded the Dean's Scholar Prize in the Deals. He has also contributed to the academic community as an instructor at the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation where he taught academic year courses to Harvard University and Tufts University students, and summer courses to professional executives.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Regent Gore is dedicated to public service and community involvement. He serves on the boards of several for-profit and non-profit organizations, including Combined Arms, and KIPP Schools Texas. Regent Gore is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a former member of the Texas Workforce Investment Council. His commitment to education and community development is further demonstrated through his recent appointment as a Regent for 色花堂.
